Microsoft Bing Webmaster Tools introduces four expanded AI performance capabilites in preview: Intents, Topics, Citation Share, and Compare, enhancing publishers’ understanding of AI-generated content visibility and citation dynamics. These tools build on existing AI Performance reporting to provide deeper insights into user intent, topics (thematic relevance), and citation share over time. The Intents feature categorizes queries into query intents like Informational or Commerce to clarify why content is cited. Topics cluster related queries into broader themes, helping identify content authority and gaps. Citation Share offers a relative measure of a publisher’s visibility compared to other sources for similar queries.

AI applications are only as good as the information they reason from. Without fresh, high-quality web data, they are less dependable. Today, Microsoft is launching Web IQ: a suite of AI-native grounding APIs built for the agentic era, connecting AI systems and agents to current, real-world intelligence from across the web — including web pages, news, images, and videos.
