Britain’s Latest Scam Number Spoofing
In the past six months alone, 40 million people have been a target of a scam, a 14% increase on last year. A particularly hard-to-spot scam called number spoofing is also on the rise, where a scammer is able to modify their caller ID and mimic the number of a company or bank.
26-year-old dog trainer Millie Clark knows this scam all too well, as she was conned out of over £20,000 when she received a call from what appeared to be her bank. After she nearly lost her business, Millie joins Holly and Phillip today to tell her story and warn others about number spoofing.
