Does the U.S. Need a Cyber Force?
Amidst an evolving threat landscape in cyber space, some are calling for the creation of a U.S. cyber force to join the existing roster of uniformed services or serve as a new agency.
This could better prepare the military to foster cyber talent and could update acquisition and procurement authorities to fit the needs of the 21st century.
However, there are unanswered questions on how a cyber force would fit in existing federal and military structures and if the creation of new authorities remains the best path forward.
Join CSIS for an event to discuss the idea of a U.S. cyber force to improve preparedness against threats to the digital domain.
The event will feature Mark Montgomery, Executive Director of the Cyberspace Solarium Commission 2.0 and Senior Director of the Center on Cyber and Technology Innovation at FDD, John Davis, Vice President of Palo Alto Networks Public Sector, and Emily Harding, Deputy Director and Senior Fellow with the International Security Program at CSIS.
