Electronic Warfare Goals

Electronic Warfare Mission and Goals.

The mission of Electronic Warfare and Cyber is to acquire integrated intelligence and cyber warfare capabilities that provide cyberspace superiority to enable freedom of maneuver on the battlefield.

Electronic Warfare (EW) is a military capability that involves the use of the electromagnetic spectrum to attack or defend against enemy forces. The mission and goals of electronic warfare can vary depending on the situation, but generally, they are aimed at achieving a tactical or strategic advantage over the enemy.

Some common mission and goals of electronic warfare are:

  1. Denying the enemy the ability to communicate: EW can be used to disrupt or jam enemy communications, making it difficult or impossible for them to coordinate their actions.
  2. Protecting friendly communications: EW can also be used to protect friendly communications by encrypting them or creating a secure, interference-free channel.
  3. Deceiving the enemy: EW can create false signals or decoys, which can be used to deceive the enemy and distract them from the real objectives.
  4. Protecting friendly forces: EW can be used to detect and neutralize enemy threats such as radar, missiles, or other electronic sensors.
  5. Facilitating friendly operations: EW can also be used to enhance friendly operations by providing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities.

Overall, the mission and goals of electronic warfare are to enable friendly forces to achieve their objectives while denying the same to the adversary, and to protect friendly forces from enemy electronic attacks.
