Federal government takes aim at Optus over claims the telco isn’t cooperating.
The federal government is taking aim at Optus with claims that the telco is not fully cooperating following the cyberattack. The government is demanding more information about the data breach.
“To accelerate full and transparent cooperation with the Australian Government on behalf of Australian citizens, specifically on the 27th of September, Services Australia, the agency wrote to Optus and said we need to identify full and completely who might have used Medicare information or other Centrelink information to get their 100 points of data so that they could get an Optus plan.
We still haven’t received that information” said Minister for Government Services, Bill Shorten.
