Sony Attacked Anonymous

Sony Attacked Anonymous and Immediately Regretted it.

Sony started a war with Anonymous that they were thoroughly unprepared to fight.

Sony and hacker group Anonymous has been a highly publicized case of a corporation trying to protect its intellectual property against a powerful adversary. Sony has been trying to keep its intellectual property safe, but it appears that they may have underestimated their opponent, as Anonymous has been able to launch a series of successful attacks on Sony’s systems.

The war between Sony and Anonymous started when Sony took legal action against hacker George Hotz, known as GeoHot, who had found a way to hack the PlayStation 3 console. Sony was attempting to protect its intellectual property from being copied or used without authorization, but Anonymous saw it as an attack on free speech and the right to hack.

In response, Anonymous launched a series of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks on Sony’s systems, which overloaded the servers and caused them to crash.

Sony has since taken a number of steps to protect its systems, including increasing the security of its networks and increasing its legal action against hackers. However, it appears that Sony was unprepared for the scale and intensity of Anonymous attacks.
