United Nations Cybercrime Treaty explained.
Unless you live totally off the grid, you should be somewhat familiar with cybercrime. Some unfortunately may already have been victims of a cyber-attack, or also likely, are not even aware of it yet.
Welcome to the world of cybersecurity. Ultimately crime pays, and cybercrime is no different. It’s estimated that cybercrime could continue to rise and cost the world up to 10 trillion dollars annually by 2025.
The United Nations seems to have had enough and is aiming to create the world’s first treaty on countering cyber criminals. It’s a gargantuan task and one which already has some analysts worried that it may be misused by authoritarian governments to curtail human rights.
