Bad actors leveraging artificial intelligence against organisations.
Arctic Wolf Networks Chief Executive Nick Schneider says “bad actors” are “leveraging” artificial intelligence against people and organisations. A year has passed since generative artificial intelligence came into being through OpenAI and its program ChatGPT.
Since then, the development of AI by all major tech companies has become their number one priority. Arctic Wolf Networks is trying to solve the problem of AI being used for nefarious means which potentially raises security risks for companies and individuals. “I think the unfortunate circumstances is that the bad actors are already there and already leveraging this technology against organisations and the people within those organisations,” Mr Schneider told Sky News Australia.
“I think cyber security vendors and the cyber security community as a whole is working as fast as we can to make sure that we leverage that AI in positive means, back against those bad actors, but also being smart about the way in which we do it, so we don’t end up in a situation that’s worse than we began with.”
