Centre issues cyber alert as Hacktivist Indonesia claims to hack 12,000 Indian government websites.
Hacktivist Indonesia, a cyber-attack group from Indonesia, has allegedly been targeting 12,000 govt websites in India.
The hacker group claimed to have issued list of govt websites, including Central and States, which it may attack in the coming days.
Following the input, an alert circulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) points.
However, Indian government websites are “updated” and “capable” of handling such threats, said the Central and State government wings.
The input was first shared with Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (Cert. In), a nodal agency under the IT Ministry.
Thereafter, the response team requested to share the information with the nodal cybercrime units in the United States about the “potential threat.”
