A new way scam artists are taking advantage of QR codes for parking fees.

As technology progresses, so do the ever-evolving methods of scam artists. One of the latest ways they are taking advantage of people is through the use of QR codes for parking fees. As more and more cities are transitioning to cashless parking payment systems, scammers are able to take advantage of unsuspecting drivers.

Scam artists are taking advantage of QR codes is by creating fake payment sites. They will create a site that looks like a legitimate payment page, complete with a QR code. However, when the driver scans the code, their payment information is sent to the scammer instead of the parking service.

The best way to protect yourself from becoming a victim of a QR code scam is to be aware of your surroundings. If you see a QR code near a parking meter, be sure to double-check that it is from a legitimate source. Additionally, you should never provide your payment information when you are unsure of where it is going.

Scammers are always looking for new ways to take advantage of people, and QR codes are becoming an increasingly popular way for them to do so. By being aware of your surroundings and being cautious when scanning QR codes, you can protect yourself from becoming a victim of this type of scam.
