It’s an all too familiar tale, a woman meets the man of her dreams online who is a romance scammer, who promises her the world only to scam her out of thousands of pounds.
For 76-year-old Elaine Chamberlain, her alleged scammer ‘brainwashed’ her into believing they would get married so he could steal her £20,000 life savings before she died with just £120 in the bank and the wedding dress she hoped to wear.
Her son Richard joined us in the studio to share Elaine’s heartbreaking story.
