Cyber attacks could target infrastructure such as air traffic control or physical security.
Major cyber attacks could occur within the next two years and target major points of the country’s infrastructure through air traffic control and, physical security according to Accenture Australia and New Zealand’s Security Lead Jacqui Kernot.
“Anything that really has a significant impact on infrastructure, you know roads, traffic control, air traffic control, physical security, water, energy, telecommunications disruptions to financial systems,” she told Sky News Australia.
“I don’t think Australia is less or more vulnerable than many other countries, certainly in terms of infrastructure, we’re kind of mid-range.
“Our cyber security awareness could be better as a country, and that’s often because we’re such a safe country.”
