Organised Crime and Disabled Australians

Itā€™s a sad reality of life that some truly awful people in organised crime walk among us. However, the title of ā€œmost despicableā€ must surely go to members of the organised crime networks who have been targeting vulnerable Australians in order to rip off the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The NDIS is supposed to be a lifeline to protect and support people with disabilities and their families. Billions have been poured into making it work. But as Nick McKenzie reports in this joint investigation by 60 MINUTES, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, all that money has proven an irresistible magnet for criminals.

Thankfully though, one of Australiaā€™s most senior crime fighters has now promised to stop the lowlifes and end the big steal.
